A referral to a prosthodontic practice is the choice your dentist makes when you have a difficult or complex problem that requires specialised treatment and care. Dr Nalbandian has received extensive training and education both locally and overseas in the field of prosthodontics and implant surgery with the skills for restoring oral harmony, function, comfort and aesthetics. Diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation and maintenance of the oral function, comfort, appearance and health of patients with clinical conditions associated with missing or deficient teeth and/or oral and maxillofacial tissues using biocompatible substitutes.
In many ways we need to look at the whole mouth, teeth and gums, and coordinate form, function with dento-facial aesthetics. We restore oral function through prostheses and restorations (i.e., complete dentures, crowns, implant retained/supported restorations). Identifying the cause of the problem is usually where we start. Cosmetic dentistry, implants and temporomandibular joint disorder are categorised under the field of Prosthodontics.
It has taken Dr Nalbandian over a decade of postgraduate study to receive his qualifications of Masters Degree in Prosthodontics from the prestigious University of London (King’s College) and a Graduate Diploma in Oral Implantology at the University of Sydney. He is also a fellow of The Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
He is a contributor and writer for postgraduate Masters Degree lectures, module programs at King’s College, University of London.
He has published articles on composite technology, implant surgery & piezosurgeryand researched patients’decision-makingprocess for selecting composite and porcelain veneer systems.
