Jaw joint treatments may be necessary to manage painful jaw muscles and jaw joint noises. Jaw joint pain, or Temporomandibular Disorders (TMDs), can be severe enough to restrict the foods you can eat, reduce the area you can open your mouth and interfere with daily activities. The pain can also interfere with your work and concentration.
Jaw joint treatments are usually very simple but can occupy multiple visits. They involve an overall review of your jaw muscles and joints and a conservative home-care management regimen. At times, treatments also involve short-term medication, mouth plates, physiotherapy and extra images of your jaw joints.
